Hello All,

I have just put my first set of 11 pictures in a new album called "New Triton Marine Plant Photos" in the Cdory Factory Photos of the CBtech Library . I will use this album to upload photos of new boats as they are being built and as a place for people to see what and how we are building. Let me know your thoughts, and I look forward to watching this album grow in the coming years.

Sincerely,

Scott Boysen

if anybody would like a specific picture of how we are currently building particular parts just let me know. I will take a picture of the part or process at the next available time and I will place them in the new album.

Have a great day and Bill (Da Nag) thanks for all of your help in getting me rolling with this setup, much appreciated.

Scott and Jeff,

Thank you for continuing to build our beloved C-Dory boats. The pics are very helpful and a great way for us to stay in the loop.

I already see a change, and maybe Scott can clarify-

My understanding was that the boat's hull and decks were assembled while still in their respective molds, and both halves of the boat were then glassed together.

There is a picture of a C-Dory 25 Cruiser hull with blue trim sitting alone outside. Does this mean that the parts are removed from the molds before assembly, and are the boat halves being glassed together as before, or have the C-Dory's gone to a shoebox construction style now?

Matt,

To the best of my knowledge the 25' Cruiser has always been a shoebox construction method, the only boats that I currently build that have to be kept in the mold at the time of deck to hull are the 16', 19', 22' and 23'. Thanks for the question.

Interesting- the 2006 25 Cruiser sitting on our lot (as well as the 2009 26 Venture) is built like the 22's with glassed together construction.

Matt,

Even with the shoebox construction method the deck to hull seam would still be glassed on the inside.

Sincerely,

Scott Boysen

Hi Scott, and thanks for the photos. Question: are these new boats (the 16' angler in particular) now built using the resin infusion process you mentioned previously? Also, is the angler headed to a local dealer (W. Washington) or somewhere else? Would love to take a closer look if I could. Thanks, and all the best! Mike.

Scott,
I'm guessing that the 23' Venture owners and the 26's would like to see how they are built given the amount of us that have found water underneath both or cabin floors and rear cockpit areas. These were not built by you folks but the previous owners of C-Doy and Cape Cruiser. Many have cut holes for inspection deck plates in both the front and rear of the cabin and in the rear of the cockpit. Some have found the water coming from anchor lockers, thru hulls for washdowns, leaking rubrail connections, water tanks etc. A cross section to better understand how these boats are built would be helpful to see how and where water could get into these area between the deck and the core. The album of Pacific Wanderer might be of particular interest to you on how and what to change when new boats are built. Good luck and thanks for being more of a part of the owners forum.

Sharp eyes Tom, not like any C-Dory I've ever seen. Windows totally different. Scott, inquiring minds want to know... What is this? it looks like the stern of a deep V of some kind... It looks like it's missing an outdrive...

Wish we could read that ticket on the stern. Hope you aren't regretting posting these pictures, keep them coming, we'll keep your computer humming and hopefully your cash register cachinking!!

Scott,

Thanks for the pix and the up dates. I enjoyed the tour when we were up there. Thanks too, for keeping C-Dory alive and well. We will do all we can to keep you busy. We'll be promoting, and you keep building. Have a great day.

It is a Skagit Orca.

Yup, I see it now. The reverse "tumblehome on the stern should have been a clue. We just don't see many of those on the Right Coast! Nice looking boat!

Hope we can get a factory tour during SBS11, we're coming west again for that shindig!

Charlie

Yes, pictures 10 is of a 24' Skagit Orca, thanks for asking. I will definitely be putting more photos on here as we build certain boats, and would enjoy hearing your feedback of our processes.
