New shore power solution - wireless extension cords

I wounder what just in case could be.
Quote from the web site.

"Warning: Even though these microwaves are about as harmful as the leakage from an ordinary microwave oven (not much), do not put computers, televisions, other sensitive electrical equipment, food, liquids, paper, glass, flammable substances, magnets, or living things in between the base and satellite units. Just in case."

Hi Folks,

I just don't believe that these will work, much less safely around boats. Lets wait and see on this one. Is it UL approved? If I am standing in water between the source and use, will I get zapped?

Thank you for the info, and lets hear from you all.

I love the products from ThinkGeek - it's THE place to buy T-shirts for my teenage boy. For the past few years, they put up a good page of "products" for April fools and even though I already put my paddlewheeler up, I coudn't resist borrowing this april fools joke too.

Well, actually Nikola Tesla proposed beaming energy via high frequency transmissions quite awhile ago. He even demonstrated that one could light light bulbs at a distance wireless. Do some googling on Nikola Tesla and you find out that it is possible to beam energy wirelessly. HOWEVER, it's not very efficient and the energy goes into many things in it's path. So, it possible, just not useful except as an EM weapon.

How about anchoring under some big power transmission lines? Great to wirelessly turn on the lights, but a little tough when it comes to trying to remember where you left your coffee mug.

For some "fun" reading, look up "EM Weapon".

Besides some interesting physics lessons, there are a number of interesting folks that believe some really fantastic EM weapons exist and are being used to control the world.

Kind of reminds me of some of the things that were being postulated during the "flying saucer era".

If that's the case, they're doing a pretty crappy job of it. :cry

They should switch to some other means of control, like ESP or something...

I thought I took the safe bet a couple of years back: Invested all my retirement funds in "The Cold Fusion Fund". Now all my assets are frozen.

A couple decades ago Bonneville Power nailed someone who had for twenty years been 'stealing' power from some overhead high voltage power lines. All it took was appropriate sets of coils in the attic.
