NEW JERSEY WATERS AND MARINAS HELP REQUEST

I need the knowledge base of our C-Brats to help me out please. My plant route will be in the NE. I leave NLT 5Mar06. The greenhouse is in Kennedyville, MD,.... BUT.... my route takes me to mid-south New Jersey. The way things work in the "thrust weeks", about 10 to 12 of them a season, is that the limited space on our trucks to haul enough plants to fill the shelves at the stores/business. So, we run very long, very continues days/weeks. My routes take me on dailey journeys down as far as Cap May and Rio Granda area. Also, on the way south to this area I have stops in Millville, on the Maurice "river or inlet". Also, heading up the east coast side of NJ, the towns of Somers Point and Pleasentville. Then in that area, another inlet that is not named on my map, that goes from the Somers Point area, inward in the NW direction up to the comunity of Mays Landing, where I have another couplw of stops. SOOO.... My thought is get me a slip in the water in any of these areas, and I would have a place for me to crash and get some rest (on the water....ya gotta love that), and not have to pay for hotel room.

Please help me with input and thoughts on these areas.

Byrdman,
Hi, my first post here, long time lurker and future C-dory owner. I have been boating in South Jersey for more than 40 years and I am very familiar with the areas you are looking at. There are two very nice marinas on the Egg Harbor river, one right in Mays Landing. There are a multitude of marina's in the Somers Point Area. I keep my current boat on the Maurice River and like it the best. Somers Point has a pretty good night life, and some decent bars/restaurants, good access to the back bays and a short shot out to the ocean. We kept a boat on the Egg Harbor for some years, liked it a lot, but very crowded on the weekends.

The marina's on the Maurice River are more basic than in Somer's Point, but you also pay far less for a slip, about one half to one third. My current slip, at Boat World Marina is only $800 for a 27' boat. Similar slips on the Egg Harbor River are $1500-1700, and $2500 - 3000 in Somers Point.

The Maurice River is very scenic, very little boat traffic on the river, deep water all the way from the inlet to Millville. The inlet is very gentle and the Delaware Bay is deep enough to allow unrestricted travel any where. Its only a 12 mile trip down the bay to Cape May/Wildwood with plently of restaurants. Good fishing in the Bay. too. We will be launching in Early May, be happy to show you around.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

PS: Saw my first C-dory in person at the Atlantic City Boat Show, a CD-25 is definitely in our Future, although my wife loved the tom-cats queen size berth!

That is exactly the info I was needing. I sent you an email with my home email account...and a couple of follow on questions. Thanks and look forward to meeting you.

Byrdman.

Byrdman,

Glad I could help.

Check your inbox, I sent a few marina names and phone numbers. If you call, the river is pronounced "Morris" like the cat.
