New C-Dory Model Update

Greetings everyone!

I have additonal updates regarding our new models. This past Friday, we received the hull mold for the 29 Venture. I've added a photo album within our factory photo album that includes various development pictures. To get an idea of the size of the the mold, there's a picture of me standing at the transom. I'm 6'2", so that should give you an idea of the scale. Also, be sure and note the 3-D rendering of the helm, that also includes the head and the entrance to the forward berth. We will start laminating around March 26, when the deck mold arrives. The first boat should be completed sometime just after May 1.

On Thursday of this week, we will start production of our 22 center console. We should finish 2 boats by the end of March, and ramp up from there. The 19 center console will start production mid-June.

I'll keep you posted as to the progress once we start production with additional phots, as well as formal introduction activities for the 29.

All the best,

Tom

Can someone point me to where this factory photo album is? I looked on the C-Dory site as well as here and am flummoxed.

Warren

Tom, Thanks for the update. I/we appreciate it. Truly looking forward to seeing the new hulls roll out.

Warren: I sit here confused... :?: How perplexed do you have to be before you are flummoxed :?: Man... leave one letter out of that...and you'd think somebody had used the head. :embarrased

Mr. Tucker:

The boats WILL be called C-Dory. Given the scope and feature set of the project, the official name will be the 29 C-Dory Venture. It's part of the marketing/positioning strategy for this boat that will become clearer as we launch.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,
Thanks for the update.

I like the opening at the starboard stern- easy access for divers. Also the bait tank in the port stern- great for fishermen.

Tom,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. So is this the "Big Announcement" we've all been anticipating? Or is there something bigger, i.e. regarding the Cape Cruiser molds etc. Curious minds want to know...

Peter/C-Dancer: Good question. Now, if C-Dory is going to start getting away from the basic boat that made them the Queen of the prom,.... then my thoughts on the CC-26 hull would be about 3 models/options.

1- A truly finished out with lots of pretty wood and fabrics version and room for about 4 chairs to sit and enjoy a nice sunset with a bit of cheese and wine....or, just stay at the docks and enjoy the dock crowds/friendships with the yellow cord plugged in.

2- A basic C-Dory linage type boat....with a couple of options within that main hull/type of boat... A solid bulkhead that is semi-permanent as to where folks in the NW can just leave it in... or... if they like the wide open version... not have the bulkhead in...and have the aft section wide open....as the current 19 C-Dory Angler.. I feel sure with some C-Brat input, and the knowledge of the builders at the plants, this could be figured out and do-able. Should take about 20-30 minutes to remove/install the bulkhead with two folks, a cordless drill with some sockets...

From here... use about 6'6" for forward V-Berth area... leaving you about 18-20' more of boat for cabin/cockpit area.... the below options for the rest of the boat....

2a: one version with about 9' cabin/9' cockpit,
2b: one version with about 6' cabin/12' cockpit
2c: one version with about 12'cabin/6' cockpit

And...with just a bit of American fix-er-upper.... if done properly, that semi-permanent bulk head, could be moved fore/aft and installed in an option of 3 locations.... using basically about a 4 inch wide/deep "arch" configuration about every 4' from forward to aft..... just put the bulkhead where you want it that weekend/trip/outing..... or... instead of a hard bulkhead....move the canvas drop curtain. Now that would be bad to the bone.

This could/would give C-Dory SEVERAL.... options for folks looking for a fishing/cruising/day-boat in the 25-26 range,..... The current CD-25, the CR-25-Tug, and this multi-version 26' boat...

Hummmm

Tom Latham: Thanks for the factory update. I appreciate it.
Starcraft Tom: I appreciate the humor too...
Wefings/Marc: The 26' Denture... well...that depends... but that would be another boat.....and with the Grace of God...we will all live long enough we will need them both while enjoying our boats... :thup :smiled

Sorry Charlie, not trying to keep you out of the loop. Starcrafttom (Tom) and a few others up here have "hinted" at something really big happening with C-Dory. I was just wondering if this was it. Somehow, in the way that Tom responded, I doubt that this is the really big announcement they've been keeping close to the vest. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Maybe it's really nothing after all.
