well susan and i finally did it. we drove up to les's, again, and got to go for a ride in his brother inlaws boat. susan really liked the ride in the rough water out side the deception pass bridge. Les has a high top gray 22ft cruiser sitting out front that has not found a home in several months. after some number crunching we came to a price and equipment list that we could all live with and made the deal.

the new boat "Susan Eugene" or "bardan bad", salmon boat in irish, will have the following gear.

90 hp honda. i wanted the e-tec but honda has financing at 4.75%
c80 chartplotter/fishfinder/radar/auto pilot.
radar arch.
vhf radio.
electric downriggers.
camper canvas.
wallas stove/heater.
forward facing seat.
high top.
swim step.
eagle tandem axel trailer with brakes.

i think that covers it. we hope to have the boat in time for the seattle boat show. I still can't believe we did it.

Oh Boy!! I got so durn excited about this I whipped up a new album and put the whole list of possible names as the title. Let's have a looksee at her! If you don't have/can't get pictures of the progress, we can sure talk somebody into taking some.

You done good! Real good! Congratulations!!

When you settle on a name, we'll go in and rename the album for you, and put it in the proper alpha place on the list.

Congratulations on your purchase of a nicely equipped 22!

I don't think that you'll regret the Honda 90 selection for power.

Great boat and excellent dealer.

Post pictures please!!

We forgot to take a camera with us today but will go back up soon to take pictures once les starts to rig the boat for us. I cant wait to get her and start making all the storage shelves and rod holders and under sink storage and all that little stuff that makes these such great boats.

What type of rod holders are people using for the arch? I plan to make a cutting board storage self over the back transom. i have to look thru the albums to find the one i want.

Does any one have ides about storing the downriggers when the canvas is all up? so many questions. We will be at the boat show and would like to come to the cook out at the factory too. I feel so much better about posting here now that we have bought the boat.

Congratulations!! Very nice boat! You're not going to get fish blood in that boat are you? :wink

You're lucky to have a dealer like Les to outfit the boat. It's a lot of work!!!

I had to do mine piece meal. Didn't have access to someone like Les in this area.

Congratulations Again!!

Bill

Congratulations Tom & Susan!
Sounds like a well outfitted vessel! :thup

(I'm thinking that there are probably almost as many C-Dorys "home- ported" in Snohomish County as there are Bayliners).

Congratulations Tom & Susan
I knew that all it would take was a ride out fishin to take you over the edge.......lol.......
see you at the Boat Show if not before

Welcome to the club. Put a bow on it and tow it home for Christmas. Isn't a great time of year?
I picked my used C-Dory up Christmas Eve and never looked back.
I hope you are going to be as happy with your new boat as I have been with my used one. I am sure you will.
Congrats. I hope to see you on the water.
Can we talk you into coming to Cathlamette this Spring?

Good going! The truth be known, this day was actually inevitable from the time you were checking us out at Langley! You got the itch, and it was but a matter of time until you had to scratch! Now comes the HARD part, the waiting for it to finally be ready!

Mr fisherman you will have a hard time keeping me ffrom coming to Cathlamette this year . also my brother lives in coos bay and i hear that you do a little haibut fishing in that area. I would lover to learn how battle the butts.

The naming Ceremony is a must do for us. have to get the boat mojo off to a good start. I have to thank roger again for a day of fishing that really got the scratch going and the trip earlier to langly was also a great push. to be honest i have been reading about this boat since we moved here in 2002. I started with the c-dog site and the adventures of bill and el. I was reading when the site split and the c-brats were born. I still read both sites alot but mostly post here. We have been to the boat show for the last two years just to look at this boat. we had to pay off a combination of almost 30,000 in debet this last year just so we could be in a postion to buy this boat so it has been a long slow road to get to this point and its hard to believe that we are here. my fishing buddies reaction was " you cant fish the skykomish in that", damm sled owners. i just wish that i could have it ready for the lake washington cruise.

Congratulations Tom and Susan! It sounds like we are in the same spot that you were in a couple of years ago. If we can stick to our planning, the way that it sounds like you did, hopefully we will be joining the owners in a couple of years!!

JEFF ,it was a long hard road to pay off all that debut and get married and buy a house and go to school and drop out to go back to work. did i mention moving from sacramento?
I have wanted a new boat for a long time. first it was going to be a good lake boat for the sierras, then when i moved here it was going to be a sled and drift boat. Then my wife had to take me to the san juans. Well then it turned into a drift boat and ocean boat. i got the drift boat last year (used) by changing insurance companies. the new insurance saved us $1,000 a year and that paid for the drift boat. now we have the ocean boat and my friend has a small sled so i am all set.

It helps if you fill your screen saver with pic's from this site, both at home and work.

Tom, now we need to talk about your user name. :xlol C-Dorytom ?
I also have a drift boat, haven't used it since we got Rock-C.

Hi Tom & Susan - Congratulations :!: When we first met you back in August after we'd returned from the Langley run, we wondered how long you'd wait before you finally made the decision to JUST DO IT :!: So pleased that you didn't wait as long as we did to JUST DO IT :!: We started looking at C-Dorys back in the 1980s. I don't know how many of them we have boarded either at the boat show or at the factory. Sometimes it takes Joe a while to finally make a decision  ...and now that you and Susan have made your decision :thup , we just know you're going to be very pleased :D

Tom, Almost all of my Halibut fishing is done out of Newport. This year I may try to learn the Astoria area. I am not very happy with the changes proposed by the rule makers this year and just may have to go fish with Red Fox instead.

Stay tuned and keep in touch. You better make sure you have enough fuel capacity if you want to fish the Chicken Ranch for Halibut or to chase Tuna with me. I have a 58 gallon main fuel cell and have a few auxiliary tanks.

Something to think about now in the early stages. Trust me on this

Mr fisherman I saw pics of your boat with 3 or 4 people, big tokes of ice and fish and now i find out 58 gallons of fuel. how mush wieght have you put in that boat and how id it handle.

r-matey glad to hear from you again. we cant wait for summer and the cruising season.
