New Affordable Boat Act (A Joke)

I imagine those who are financially crushed by their medical bills would not see the humor. Mean spirited to say the least.

If a C-Brat posts a liberal opinion, he is castigated for bringing a political opinion to a boating site. If a C-Brat posts a conservative opinion, he is cheered on and the liberal C-Brats are called thinned skinned.

Just the facts.

Sad thing is, politics of late have become so polarizing. The entire congress and administration need to be wiped clean of all the inbred politicians. Trouble is, society is just as messed up. When you have a close to 50 50 split and folks can no longer sit down and discus or negotiate rationally amongst them selves and think only of them selves rather than what might be best or fair for all, well were all living in that society now. Fwiw the majority of citizens wanted healthcare costs fixed. But few were willing to first spend time controlling their own costs, and rather wanted the government to fix it for them. When was the last time you saw government intervention work flawlessly or anywhere close to perfect? That's my take!

Surprised that all powerboats purchased under this "ACT" are not required to have bow thrusters, double helms, a boom and mast and a dinghy with a capacity equal to the vessel purchased, whether needed or not...

Aye.

with the new bill I have a choice, double my deductible or quadruple my monthly premium (affordable, act. lol), so now with the redistribution of financial crushings, I still find it humorous. regardless of what anyone thinks, we really have no control over such things. unless you want to dedicate your life to politicking (read: sell your soul for power lust) voting is a joke and the average joe at home has no control over this stuff, so I figure we should roll with the punches. sometimes government change will be in your favor, sometimes it wont.

everything I've read indicates that this is exact sentiment has been shared in probably every generation since Cesar. I don't think its a new issue in America, just politics doing what politics do. life is too short to care

My posting was not a shot to be fired at either party. It was just a parody that I thought was funny. I thought it made fun of government in general. It was not meant to be political. I was told some years ago it does not matter if you are republican or democrat, it's all just politics. I thought all the posts were great. Some funny some sad, some irritated, some political. A cross section of America and it's all what makes this site great. I really liked the dinghy anology which I thought pointed to baby boat option and that the wife was too old to have a dinghy. I'll have get a donation for the site guys as soon as I can get my boat insurance straightened out.
D.D.

everyone I showed it to laughed, but none of them voted for obama, lol.

shouldnt let yourself get too worked up about the opinions of people on the internets, life is too short.

We ALL have opinions -- on boats, health care, and you name it -- what's your favorite beer?

Good to have a factual or experience base, but ... we all interpret the facts anyway. As a former teacher, I found that one of the best parts of teaching -- discussing subjects that had no clear cut answer, and listening and sharing ideas to form an opinion -- gives insight into personalities and often new and interesting perspectives. Just required one thing from my students -- respect!

So Lib or Conservative - let's listen to others with respect -- and share humor. This has been a fun thread, but perhaps enuf -- since this site is not intended to share political ideas.

So where is your next cruise? And, why there?

as the cabin fever sets in thick this winter I'm thinking we might grab a deep south Puget Sound island trip. maybe head into Jarrel Cove (there have been CBGT there). its pretty nice and despite being cold, I bet its pretty quiet this time of year :)

I've been looking at the Dock Street marina web site, I want to try to catch a good weather weekend and try it out. Maybe we should have an "on call" Dock Street gathering if the weather gods smile. For us, this time of year it gets dark so durn early, without the option to go wander about a town we would go nuckin futs

I think, but dont know anything about it, that there is a Christmas parade in Tacoma area, isn't there? would be pretty neat to have a parade of c-dorys, then they could wrap up at dock street.

Dock Street Marina is very nice. the facilities (shower/bathrooms, etc) are very clean with a new washer/dryer, and the dock itself is very nice. the staff was friendly as well. There aren't any 'frills' really, but you're within walking distance to some very nice cafes and, eats, and of course my favorite, the Swiss Pub. We would probably try to attend a winter CBGT at dock street, its only a half hour from us.

Did someone say beer???
Lately I've been having a Hoegaarden just about every day.
I like to buy domestic but this stuff is so good I'll stray for a bit.

I attempted to sign up, but the web site was down. The only time Oblama is lying is when his lips are moving. Thanks for the fine & very funny joke.
