No it's not me. I just heard that a close friend of mine bought a new 25 ranger. I had to hear it from a third source and was not given the name due to a blood oath by the source.

So who is the lucky couple???

We agree. It's very tempting but let's not say another word. Let's give the happy prospective owners the pleasure of making the public announcement themselves --- when THEY are ready. That seems only fair.

We realize our past post could be taken as a little slap on the hand and we want to make it clear it wasn't meant to be taken personally.
We appreciate that we are an enthusiastic group and we love to support each other in our endeavors and adventures. We certainly didn't mean to detract from that. It's what makes our group so great.

Ida and I want to say hi and thanks to all the great C-Brats that we have met at the 08 & 09 SBSCBGT's. We were unable to attend this year. However, just this afternoon, we finished with the purchase of a Claret Red hulled 2010 Ranger Tug R-25. It was a long process in deciding between it and a CD-25 which we liked very much also. However, in the long run, we decided that the R-25 would better serve us in what we plan to do. It will be home ported in Anacortes, WA where we will be relocating to later this spring or early summer. Tom, we still have your card. We hope that we are still welcome to attend some of the CBGT's this summer.

Also, they have posted the news on the Tugnuts site.

Larry that was great but your barking up the wrong mast. I was not talking about my favortie northerns but very glad to hear it. I was talking about another couple and made more then one. My wife is very green with envey right now would like to hire out as crew on any 25 tug she can.

I can just envision the happy new owners curled up in their retirement Chateau, giggling over all this fuss. I'll have to admit, it is fun. How long can we stretch it out?

Okay, you guys! You're having way too much fun with this....if our boat had as many leaks as this C-Brat site, we'd be on the bottom with Davey Jones.....

So here's the news. The newest R-Matey is a 25 Ranger Tug SC. SC stands for sport cockpit. The Ranger folks have absolutely hit the nail on the head with this one!! Working with our long time friend Jeff Messmer has been a pleasure as we knew it would be.

Also, we feel good about buying a boat built in the USA.....as Ranger Tug employs 61 people with a ripple affect of 150 or more. Never hurts to help our local economy whenever possible.

We love our C-Brat buddies and have had many wonderful adventures and LOTS of fun with them! There's no way we've giving up our C-Brat friends.

Delivery date is sometime in April...oh, the color is dark blue. Now I can return to using the dark blue font.

Today was our fourth visit to the SBS. We logged a lot of hours looking over every inch of the new Ranger Tug and we appreciate Jeff's patience with us.

:thup :thup Did you buy the boat that was on display at the SBS or do you have to wait for it to be built?

Color me blue.

Congratulations, Joe and Ruth! We are so happy for you and can't wait to see you smiling from the deck of your new boat. We're still grinning from ear to ear.

Great, glad for you. Now you need to go on over to the TugNuts and "fess up" there.

I'm trying to nudge them towards Hilton Harbor (on the hard, with a sling launch) rather than Squalicum. The thought of a brand new R25 being in the water all the time with all that yucky stuff growing on the bottom, haul outs, scraping, bottom painting, and so forth, is just painful, when 100 yards away for the same price or less is a facility that is just perfect for them. But this is absolutely too cool! What a deserving couple of people, I think this is absolutely the right move for them!

WOW! Well, first off, congratulations Ruth & Joe! You deserve to ride in such luxury and I'm a little green w/ envy.

I have two questions though:
What will you do w/ the "new" (now old) 22'?
What is a "sport cockpit"?

Meredith and I saw a dark green hulled R25 off of Gedney Island last year (she's never seen the boat up close or been inside). Her response: Oh, my God...that's a beautiful boat. I wish we could....." :cry

Hey Ruth and Joe -

Congratulations! And after you stole my boat too  -- a great boat for a great couple, and working with Jeff is a always a real pleasure. Before you move uptown lets share a brew or two. Or maybe three. :beer :beer

:love
