25 Cruiser
New here, with a 25 Cruiser getting set up with a heater, canvas, electronics, and a kicker. Should be on the river in early September!

Looking forward to meeting those of you that cruise the Willamette and Columbia rivers, and I'll need a little help and advice. Our last boat was an Arima 15ft Sea Hunter 20 years ago.
 
Congrats and welcome aboard! The 25 is a great boat, and will provide you with years of great cruising!
 
Yes, I'll get pictures up as soon as the boat is ready to launch. It's getting a 9.9HP Suzuki kicker installed, and the main power is a 200HP Honda.

Still need to figure out curtains, spare anchor, probably an additional battery, etc, etc.
 
Congrats Slipknot. Did you pick this one up from Sporcraft? I almost bought it but chose the 23 due to my towing limitations. Ryan is awesome down there. I was just up your way with my old boat as I am waiting on my new one but should have it by sept 1st. I'll likely see you out there. I think I may hit up your channel when breaking-in my engine over Labor Day weekend.

We should start a local C-Brats event!

Anyways, congrats on the beautiful boat!

Yes... Sportcraft, and hope to see you (and the new 23) out on the channel. Also need to compare notes with you on launch ramps to see what is going to work best this time of year with the low water levels.
 
Where are you going to store your boat? At your house in Scapoose? From where I live (Laurelhurst) I primarily use the following launches. As far as low tide, the last two listed work well. You an get a year pass as well for cheap so you can leave your tow vehicle parked for several days in a row. (except for at cathedral park)

Cathedral Park - when I plan on cruising along the Willamette or up to St Helens. The dock is not the greatest but easy in and out most of the time. At peak fishing season it can be a bit hectic

M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp - near marine drive & 33rd, this can get busy but most of the time is ok. Its a nice and well maintained ramp. Sometimes wave runners can be a pain but that season is usually short lived. Most of the time fisherman are out there.

Chinook Landing Marine Park - Out in Troutdale, my favorite launch too bad its so far away... But its fantastic if you plan to head out east. Its well maintained barely need fenders, its protected, no current or waves to worry about. I will launch from here on my first trip.

Anyways, I have launched other places above the falls too. But for proximity to my home these work well.
