Hi. last year I updated my c-80 to v5 and lost the ability to over lay my radar. if any one has the v4.30 update on a chip that I can borrow to update my c-80 back to v4.30 I would be very thank full.

Look on the Raymarine web site and see if that rev. is still there and download it onto a blank chip and install it in your plotter.
This is the way I have done my upgrades.

PS. Right now I can not find my spare chip and reader to see what rev. # I have on it. It may be on the boat.

I know that but really dont want to spend money on a reader and chip for 4 seconds of work. unless something has changed you have to have raymarines reader and last i looked there were $50 or so.
You must have something different than I do.
My daughter had a multi memory chip reader with a usb plug and a chip from a older camera that fit my c120.
All I do is download from raymarine and then put that chip in my c120 and follow the instructions.
I looked and the reader and chip must be on the boat which is 25 miles away.

I concur with Bill. I have never used a Raymarine reader and it worked just fine. Can't lay my hands on it right now or I would send one of the dogs over with it
On edit. Has anyone tried simply downloading it and dumping on a chip using the reader built into a laptop ??? Can't see why this would not work as well as a plug-in USB reader.

Well thats good to know. I was told long ago that I had to have the raymarine card reader or it would not work. But if that has changed I will try to do it this week.
