Need advise on venting fuel tank for CD 16

I am looking for advise on venting the 12 gallon fuel tank directly out thru the hull so I don't have the odor in the boat. I have a 97 CD 16 cruiser and sleep aboard using a camper back. Hate that gas smell on a warm day.

with the new tanks i just installed, i was worried about the fumes as well, with them being right up under the gunnels i knew when they were full there would be potential for a bit of gas to come out the vent, so i ran a 5/8 hose behind the tank and put a big goose neck it, and terminated it with a through hull fitting on the transom, just below the rubber rail, so if any fumes were present it would be behind the boat and back by the motors, so far, ive never smelled a thing
