I am considering the US/Canadian marine & lakes charts for our tablet. Has anyone had any experience with the application?

Gene,

For the price, we bought both Navionics & Navimatics software for use on our iPad. Each has features we like (e.g. Active Captain [which we LOVE] overlays on to Navimatics and Garmin, but I haven't seen it on Navionics). Conversely, Navionics offers some advanced route planning that we like. Regrettably, I don't think that one program offers it all.

Best,
Casey&Mary

Thanks Casey,

We purchased the Navionics app. Margaret loves the ease of the app & she can now be a port seat driver in. Reefmadness as well as in the truck. It seems like a very useful. Program.

Like Casey we use both Navionics (US, Lakes and Canadian), plus Navimatics for the Active Captain. We also have iNavX for traditional NOAA maps, and good routing information.

One of the features we enjoy of the Navionics is the projected course line, which helps to identify bays, landmarks and passages.
