I have been talking to Marie for years about a "Stacker" boat/towed car trailer for the RV--this takes it to a new level: Don't even need the trailer!

Actually, this is the newest, "launch from the front" method of putting a boat, in the water. It is for those who don't want to back down the ramp. It requires split second timing and brakes on all axles.

I've seen this also on I-75 in Michigan some years back.
It was not amusing since the boat launched into/on top of
its tow vehicle which rear ended another vehicle in front of it
causing a fast stop..

One other nauseating sight in the FL Keys was a 22' outboard
lying on its side on asphalt after rolling off its trailer in the
middle of an intersection from the tow vehicle making a fast
turn.

And, yes, neither above boats were secured to the trailers with
tie-down straps. I'm sure the drivers thought "I don't need'em".

It was not amusing

Martin, I agree. My intention posting this was not to find the calamity befalling others amusing. The severity of this collision which happened in Garden City Utah definitely messed up more than one persons day. Some people have discovered that finding humor in a dire circumstance is the only way to stay sane. Doctors for example - many exhibit genuine empathy for their patients while others find that the only way to stay sane, focussed and do their job is to remain aloof and appear uncaring.

I have worked in the collision industry for over 40 years and have talked with many people after their accident. Some are devastated after a minor fender bender others find humor in their situation after a severe collision. Which way is best to "deal" with the situation at hand? To each their own - but one thing I have learned from doctors after my recent heart problem is that "stress" can be very debilitating to both body and mind.

This one could have been worse; it didn't breech the cab, or crush it, so the truck occupants probably walked away. And it didn't go over the truck and impale the oncoming vehicle.

I have seen close, (the bow through the back window of the tow rig), when powering onto a trailer and whatever obstruction had been impeding the boat, finally gave way.

Accidents happen. We need to do what we can to plan ahead, and prevent Murphy.
