Mud slide

Today was another productive day. Since we will be searching again tomorrow, we are staying the night in Darrington at the home of a local resident. The townspeople are truly generous in all they are doing for us. Hot homecooked breakfasts, sack lunches in the field and hot homecooked meals in the evening. For those of you familiar with the folks in the mountains of North Carolina, you know what I mean because this town was settled years ago by former residents of N.C. (I attended college just outside of Asheville,in the early '60's). Breakfast this morning included biscuits and gravy.

Dave,
Thanks from all of the folks who know what a valuable and difficult service you, the others from your station, and the rest of the rescuers provide. We all have your and those who are lost and their families in our prayers.

One of my buddies is a retired fire chief and we were talking about the efforts today. It is still national TV major news.

God speed your efforts.
