Movin & Shakin

You can pretend and try to divert attention all you want. We know the real truth. It was a late aftershock from Kingfisher II's hard landing outside of a bar in Oak harbor!!

How about:-

Bill collecting rock samples

or

Opening gun for Crab season

Can't blame me for trying

I see that Kiro 7 has upgraded it to 3.7 in spite of what USGS says and a helicopter just went North to take "live" pictures :disgust

All I got was a teenager with a pencil that couldn't spell check.

Oooops. I see it has officially gone to 3.7

Oh my! A quake that is over and still getting worse??

What next! Perhaps it was MJ trying to get through the pearly gates... (I know, just be nice..... )

Charlie

I thought he used to wear the Pearly Gates

This is for Tropical Jim:-

Quote from Kiro 4 news:-

Callers to Seattle TV and radio stations say they were awakened by shaking that rattled windows and pictures on the walls. One man who says he felt the quake while sitting in a chair says his cat gave him a funny look and ran down the hall.

Merv

I'd listen, then. Cats know these things.
:cat

I heard it. They make an erie sound in the valley here.

Thanks for the advice Brock.

I am used to dogs and when one of mine gives me a funny look and walks away it normally means he has made a very bad smell and is blaming it on me.

Merv

 It's a prelude to THE BIG ONE!.....

You my friend are just looking to go surfing on the Sunami that goes with it :D

Merv.
Got some new Chickens today. Will try your recommendation.

On a slightly more serious note, what is the consensus of the collective regarding earthquake insurance? I have heard stories about insurers refusing to pay earthquake claims, leading one guy to rig up a bottle of gasoline to break next to his hot water heater in the event of a quake and thereby enable him to claim under fire insurance. I have serious doubts about the efficacy of this approach. I moved here from a high-risk zone (Wasatch Front, Utah) but did not buy insurance there. Instead, I built the house with extra earthquake anchors to keep the structure from shaking off the foundation. That is not possible with my current house.

Well, I tried to get it. They said the deductible would be $60,000. I had to send them a photo of the hotwater heater and heard nothing more from them (Safeco). My insurance broker said he doesn't have it on his house (about 2 miles from mine). When I asked for his advice he said I shouldn't hang any pictures over the head of the bed! My son lives right on a fault line in Bellevue and he doesn't have it. This probably doesn't add anything to the knowledge base, but it is my experience so far.
