Motor Stolen

NO NO! Don't even mention the word CHAINSAW on the pub site. Back when Les was a pup we had a 135 Merc (or something black) cut off the back of a 17 ft. Whaler -- motor and transom both gone. Insurance Co. very reluctant to pay until court... dang it, I'm thirsty! (Where was Nursie R. when I really needed her!!)

Fred,
Like the others I'm pissed at your loss I'm sure who stole it will get whats coming at some point..... I had a 9.9 Nissan on my Arima that I used a large cable lock to attach it to the the 90 next to it. Worked out well.
Gives you another option

See you at Jarral

McGuard makes locking lug nuts for fancy wheels...this I know because I had my fancy wheels stolen back when I was a kid, I wised up and started using the locking lug nuts...then I wised up even more and stopped buying fancy wheels...but anyhoots, I see that McGuard is now making a lock nut for outboards. www.mcgard.com/marine/outboard.asp

Fred,
A few years back I had a kicker motor stolen. I was using the same type of lock. They are extremely easy to pry open and offer very little security. I switched to a special through-bolt which requires a special socket to remove. It seems much more secure. Removing and storing an 8hp could get to be a pain. Anyone else have any thoughts on a more secure way to atch your kicker?
