More Cockpit Room?

I have a 22' Cruiser and I LOVE my C-Dory especially the cabin. But now I want something a little bigger. I am looking at the 25' C-Dory, it is a little bigger but not too big. It has a working head, that will make my wife very happy.

I just don't know if it has enough cockpit space. 4 people fishing off the 22 seems a little crowded. Will the 25 be a good choice? I have looked at other brands/models but I do not want to give up the cabin.

Can any ex 22 owners with a 25 offer some advice?

The CD 25 cockpit is wider, but I don't think it is much longer. Could 4 fish in a 25? Yes. Would it be crowded? Yes. We use a center console for more than 2 to 3 fishing. (of course it depends on what type of fishing)

I think that an Armstrong bracket on the 25 with a full transom would make a wonderful "25 angler"--buy an older 25 and retrofit it, and it would be a fairly simple project which would increase the value of the boat. A good fiberglass man, or "old growth" Dave, could do this easily.
 
oldgrowth (dave) did an excellent job of adding two feet to his 16 cruiser. I don't see why the same thing couldn't be done to your boat. To see the some incredible "before and after" photos, view oldgrowth's photo album
 
Al - it would be news to me if there were such a critter as a "25 Angler," unless as Dr. Bob suggests, somebody custom retrofit a CD25 Cruiser...not a bad thought though. I think Byrdman specifically asked the factory if they could do a 25 Angler and he was turned down...
 
I've posted this elsewhere, but just to help with some perspective:

In the 22, the 25, and the TC, four fishermen and gear can feel cramped if you're out there 12-14 hours in the ocean. Someone always seems to be bumping into someone else. Have we done it? Sure. I've had 8 ppl on my TomCat for short trips (2-4 hours with most not fishing) and that works OK.

BUT - long term use, it is very comfortable to have three fishermen and their gear aboard and active for days, but four can get on your nerves, even in the huge cockpit/cabin of the TomCat. Maybe better cooler and gear storage would help. It's four ppl in the cabin at the same time, and/or four ppl working in the cockpit at the same time that can get irritating.

I normally fish either alone or with 1-2 people on my 22'. I have had 4 fishing a couple times.
I've always looked at the 25' with envy for the extra room. I recently had the opportunity to go out on a 25' fishing with 4 men on board- loved the room. We had plenty of elbow room to fish and caught several fish.
BUT-- I was disappointed with the way the 25' handled in rough water. I have a renewed love and respect for my 22' and how it handles rough water. Don't get me wrong- the 25' handled the water well, just not as well as the 22'- IMHO
