Just looking on EBAY at boats this morning, and what do I see.....A Giant C-Dory for sale....it's one of those 29' mondo boats...with an imboard...and it is brand new 2008 never registered....

Still has 2 days to go and the bidding has only gone to $75,000... it really is nice....and comes with a 3 axle trailer...and a diesel.... wow would that be neat.... huge but neat... someone is going to get a deal on that boat...

I asked my wife....and she said sure...as long as I plan to live on it..with the dog...she likes the 22.

I expect the reserve is over $100K
Any other comments or informed opinions on this boat?
I am not planning to buy but like to see the pro and cons b/c I like the layout and cockpit.
Thanks I dont read all messages and will search the archives but cant think of many unique search words except 29

For sure you"ll never hear the words..."what a cute boat" I like our cute boats and the 29 loses something.

Pat Your 246 is head and shoulders better then their original design Loree and I looked at the rossborough 's yrs ago but did not like the head compartment your boat with the head in the back makes the boat much better for cruising etc .

A Venture 29 seems like it has to be named "Baby Huey"!

"Valkyrie"

Ah, the lack of love for the 29.

Which I never understood. It is a C-Dory. (But if I owned one, I'm not sure I'd feel welcome here.)

Personally, I like a lot about the 29 Venture. There were some minor things I'd change, but it maintains many of the C-Dory strengths and attributes, but in a slightly larger scale, and it can sleep 6.

Having sold the Shamrock 27 Mackinaw for a few years, the 29 Venture seemed to solve many of the objections we heard when showing the Mackinaw at the Boat Show.

I would not mind owning it myself... but having to own a diesel big rig to tow it....might cause a small problem...and of course it would not fit next to my house...(winter storage)..

Never the less... it would be great on the water...and that inboard diesel ...wow how nice could it get... wonderful for those trips up the passage to Alaska....

I think it just changes the concepts of our boats....from volkswagen camper-like boats.....to Class A motorhomes.... mini's to maxi's..

Heck...we might not be able to camp in the Walmart parking lot with Moma boat..
