Moisture in CD 25

I have read a lot of the moisture posts but still want to ask a question. I have a 2007 CD 25 that has been dry except a slight amount of moisture under the cushion in the v-birth. Do you guys think this is from the leaks that have been described in the past or just normal condensation? When we noticed it we had just returned from a week on the water. While we were out I felt relieved that we had not experienced much condensation in the V-Birth. But now I am wondering if I just had not noticed or if this is a leak from the rub rail that others have described.

I keep my boat in the water in a covered slip.
 
If you have been on the boat for a week, the chance of some condensation on the area under the V Bunk is very good. Especially if you didn't see any actual water.
There are threads about putting material under the mattress. We didn't have any significant condensation on our 25 in the 6 weeks we were out, but we did have circulation at night by leaving at least some hatch open--and watched for any moisture accumulation--plus we did put closed cell foam on the sides of the cabins, which reached down along side the cushions.

First of all it's a "berth" not a "birth"...I hope! :-) (maybe that explains the dampness???)

Unless the hull sides are also very damp and/or wet in all likelihood it's condensation. There are many products on the market that go between the mattress cushion and the berth flat; it's a very common problem. Just search on Google or such for boat mattress ventilation or such and you'll get lot's of info.

Proper ventilation of boats is not often addressed these days by boat builders (except for some expensive boats; especially offshore boats). Add something like Nicro powered vent or two and it will make a big difference. Being under cover worsens the situation so take some extra care to get ventilation working.
