Mini Jack Plate recommendation

Hi All ,

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.

I need to install a mini jack plate on my 2005 22' cruiser. The kicker engine 9.9hp Suzuki skeg rides in the water while underway. Looks good with that sweet rooster tail.

It sits at the perfect depth for trolling, but the shift lever is rubbing on the splash well wall when turning to port. I would like to add an adjustable, but it looks like they are way too much overkill for a 9.9hp Suzuki.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed,

Thanks JK,

I was just out measuring the shifter forward gear from end to the transom as the shifter is located on the starboard side. I hope 4” plus transom width will clear the gearshift from the splash well wall.

I will see if I can post a picture.

Feel free to jump in with advise, or a good gel coat person in SW WA. if I need to move the kicker to the Port side.

Ed, can't help you with the recommendation on a good mini jack plate as we had our Suzuki 9.9 bolted directly on the transom from Sportcraft Marina in Portland. As far as a good gelcoat person, we have used Schooner Creek Boatworks in Portland www.schoonercreek.com They do good work and are good at gel coat color matching. Gary

To keep my kicker from dragging while it is tipped up, I built a mount that changed the mount angle to vertical. See a photo in my album, Nowhere Fast.

Morning Karl,

Thanks for sharing the awesome set up for your kicker.

I hope to get something like the one you have or JK has. I am mostly concerned about the shifter hitting the splash well. Going out to see if I can move the kicker over closer with a Jack plate to the main engine to solve both issues.

Merry Christmas 🎄
