Marinaut 215

Has anyone been in contact with Ben and/or Dave on the progress of the Toland Marine Marinaut 215? I have tried emailing via their website but haven't received any response. They are still advertising here, so I assume that work is continuing on hull #1.

Thanks!
Leo

I'd love to hear an update as welll...

I'll drop Dave a note at the email address I have for him - it's different than the one at the Toland site.

Bill – thanks for the email letting me know about this enquiry. I would eventually see it but not for a few more days.

Leo – I have not seen an email through our site from you recently, however I could have missed it as there has been over 300 inquiries through our site. Both Ben and I get all the enquiries and he answers them unless it is explicitly addressed to me. I answer all questions raised on the C-Brat site and I started this post this morning and am just now finding the time to finish it.

The boat is coming along sloooow. Ben says maybe we will have a finished product the end of this year. I have updated our web site http://www.tolandmarine.com with the latest design, but have not added any progress photos. The boat is at the old C-Dory site in Kent (now known as Tern Boat Salvage) having the cabin-plug fiberglass work done. In a few weeks, we should be starting on the boat itself and have a hull, cabin and top completed.

Ben has a friend that wants it when it is finished, but I told him he cannot have it until the second one is ready. I want to have a boat to show until then, however it will be Black with Gold trim because that is the color he wants.

I will add the latest photos of the boat here on this site before they are posted on our web site. It may be the end of this week or early next week before I have time. I will be glad to answer any questions anyone may have.

Leo – I have posted the latest photos of the Marinaut 215 HERE as a new thread on this site. I have not up-dated our web site with new photos, so this is the only place they are available.

This is a well thought out boat, it’s like all the idea’s and modifications on this site rolled into one; I’m anxious to see one up close when they start rolling out. Best of luck Dave, think you’ve got a real winner here.

The boat design was inspired from the members of this site. We listened to the members of this site and tried to incorporate as much of their constructive suggestions as we could work into a 21’ 5” boat. There was a lot of feedback on our web site from the C-Brats and it helped immensely in the final design of the boat. There was a lot of good suggestions that we were unable to incorporate into the design but as so many of you have said, “any boat is a compromise” and Ben and I believe this is a good one.

My goal is to have a finished boat or at least close to being finished for the next boat show gathering.
