I agree 4 adults on my boat and 2 kids (on my 23) would annoy me. Also the boats seem to be sensitive to weight moving around on them. 3 adults plus captain moving around or sitting on the bench seems like a listing and cruising agravation to me. My wife finds it comical I ask her to tell me when she decides to hop out of her passenger seat because it does affect handling especially when I’m using trim tabs to adjust listing. It can handle it but I personally would not want it unless I stuck two adults on back deck with chairs on opposite sides and kids could function as waiters haha
A 25 would be my recommendation and you’d likely keep the boat longer, have less agrivation, and would do better in the seas up there. My two cents.
My wife and I picked the 23 (essentially a 22) because our kids are almost out of the house, don’t enjoy boating. For us it’s our get away and for two it’s near perfect. We do take couples with us on a slow calm cruise from time to time. But 4 hours of that is enough for me. 3 people on the boat is tight but doable for an occasional overnight trip.
Thanks for all the feedback! I will continue my search. I missed a really good deal on a 1995 22 Angler for $20K that was sold after 4 hours this weekend, it came with all the fishing/shrimp gear as well. It seems these boats don’t last long when they are priced right. Thanks again for the advice
