Maiden voyage, refurbished 22 cruiser

Did our first overnighter at the local lake.

Everything went well. The change from the 15 pitch to the 17 pitch worked great. Right on in the RPM range with a full load. The 15 pitch would over rev on the topend. But I will keep it as a spare and for altitude. Top speed of 30 MPH and very comfortable cruise of around 20. The optimax ran great. Have not done a fuel burn test yet but we ran for quite some distance and the fuel tank was still close to full.
Plenty of power to pull a water skier.
All systems worked well.
The 5 hp kicker produced a 5 mph top speed and 4 mph cruise.

A few more weeks work on window screens , curtains and a lot of little items and we will be ready for the trip north to Guttenberg.

Looks like we may have a small houseboat on the market soon.

So, it will be the C-Dory at Lake Powell?

Yes, Guttenberg and the Mississippi for a couple of weeks, then westbound for a few weeks at Powell.
I will bring the stove for you and my wife is expecting a bridge game.

Well, I am going to bid six no trump regardless, so we'll see! Patty just may decide to get a new bridge partner! (I claim her for life partner...)

I forgot to add that the new Engel dual voltage fridge seemed to work really well. minimum battery draw even in the 98 degree Texas heat. The 60 amp alternator on the new outboard really keeps both batteries topped off too.

Congrats, Tex! That was quite a project... I recall standing in the sludge in the cockpit. Due to your hard work and foresight, another proud C-Dory gets a new lease on life. :thup :thup

Really sorry we won't be able to make the Lake Powell gathering - it would be a treat to see the "after".

So, is Sharon onboard with selling the houseboat? I recall the look on her face when you two were in the parking lot on our little island and I asked if this boat would replace the houseboat.

One last reminder: have all the proper licensing and registration when you take it on the road... you won't get away with "Nobody would steal that," anymore!

Wishing you safe travels and great adventures with the "new" boat!

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Thanks for the kind words Jim. You will get to see it. We hope to make the run down the ICW to South Padre this fall when it cools off a bit.

If Jim does not have room, you can always have free dock space at our house.
