Lowrance LCX-113c GPS Not finding location

I had to work a bit on the best position of the transducer--so I do believe that it is related to being just below the hull by about 1/8" (I had it flush at first). I don't do Radar overlay. I wonder what heading sensor you would use for the overlay? Generally the delay on the GPS is too long--the best heading sensor is a gyro fluxgate compass. I would check the manual (mine does not support radar). I use Furuno Radar, with separate screen.

The antenna should be at least a foot below the radar or above the radar. The actual beam width is about 20 degrees (up and down) in a vertical direction. The gps antenna should be 3 feet from VHF and radar antennas, but I haven't had problems with the antenna closer to both types of antennas.

Thank you for a clear answer. I belive my puck is above the beam angle but is less than 3 feet from the edge of the dome. I am looking at adding a second VHF and will probably change the position of the GPS puck at that time.

Thought I'd post a follow up for anyone who may experience this in the future. It was the antenna, Lowrance sent us a new one as a replacement. Luckily the antenna was still under warranty so no charge. We're now back on the water, unfortunately we missed a month of salmon season... Thanks again for everyone's help.

Nate,

Glad to hear that you're back in business with the GPS. I may twist some arms to see if I can get a demo puck from a friend and see if that makes a difference on my X15 (or 16 as I don't recall the exact model). If it works, I will probably put the old beast on my high lakes boat so I can use the waypoint function to mark fish.

Regards,

Steve

I had a Lowrance 320C and the antenna failed. Lowrance replaced it because I was still under warranty. Sold that boat. New boat and a Lowrance 520C. The antenna went out 3 months after warranty. :x Cost me $120.00 for the new antenna. :( I have no reason to buy another Lowrance product.
The phone calls are a 20 minute hold until you get cut off. Call back, hold for another 20 minutes, try to explain all you have done to find the problem and they sound as though your nuts and that I am the problem.
Maybe so  Next purchase will be Garmin or other. :thup
