...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ROUGH COLUMBIA RIVER BAR IN EFFECT
THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...

.IN THE MAIN CHANNEL...COMBINED SEAS NEAR 20 FT TONIGHT...THEN
BUILDING TO 22 TO 24 FT ON MONDAY. HOWEVER...SEAS 24 TO 25 FT
DURING THE EBBS...WHICH OCCUR AROUND 8 PM TONIGHT AND 9 AM MON.
BREAKERS WILL COVER THE BAR DURING THE EBBS.

The near shore marine forecast says 40 to 45 kts with gusts to 60 kts. That ought to be enough.
 
Gonna be rough here today too. We hate those 2' waves! :mrgreen:

There is a reason the coast Guard does their rollover boat training on the Columbia River bar.... A nasty bit of water that deserves lots of respect.

Having fished in the Pacific outside that bar, I have crossed it many times over a number of years. I have been across that bar when it was a sheet of glass. But that was the exception, even on the "good" days.
