I dropped a fleet radio into the drink earlier this week and I need to replace it :\ I'm looking for a used Kenwood TK2160 programmable VHF hand-held radio with battery pack and antenna.

Of the hundreds of brands of products I can sell I don't have access to Kenwood...

Thanks for the suggestions!

Ha ha - tell me about it Charlie! Thanks for looking. The one on Ebay does not include battery or antenna....best price I have found so far is $240 for vhf, bat, and antenna.

Matt,
There are a number of other radios which have similar capabilities including Yaseau and Icom. But these are designed for business, amateur, public service or military/law enforcement use, and appropriate license is often called for. This may be a current radio, since it is listed by a number of distributers. Because of the somewhat restricted use, it is not as widely publicly available, as a marine VHF would be.

I suspect that you are "replacing" a park service radio?.. This is not a specific Marine VHF radio, but the marine frequencies can be programed in. I don't know of the other radio's scramblers are compatible with the Kenwood. If you purchased the one on E/Bay, you could get accessories from regular dealers, but a retail prices.

Unfortunately not, this is another company I work for....I leaned over to grab a cleat and the damn thing slipped out of my jacket and into the drink. I can buy a million products at cost but unfortunately not Kenwood. Looks like the best price I can get is $240 for this unit.

Ha - I wish I could find a Kenwood dealer willing to sell me the unit at cost in exchange for buying something from my store at cost....

Thanks for the suggestions. I called one dealer asking $400 for the same radio!
