Looking for original style C-Dory Helm seats

I am looking for a couple of helm seats of the same make or similar to the original one that is in our 2004 C-Dory Cruiser. I have not had any luck as of yet. Does any one know who these are made by? I can't find any manufacturer tags on the one we have. If anyone has an old one lying around that they don't have a use for I would be interested in purchasing from you. Does not have to be nice, as we would probably reapoulster it any ways. If I could even find the hinges I could duplicate the original seat.

Thanks

Doug

Doug,

We have a like new (tan) helm seat from our 2006 Cape Cruiser. You can have it for the shipping if you want it.

As far as I know it's the same seat that was used in the CD22, but I'm sure someone on 'Brats will know for sure.

Best,

Ditto what Casey said. Same boat, same seat, same deal (although you might prefer a drive to Olympia rather than shipping costs, if you're interested in mine).

Casey says his is "tan." Mine is officially Sunbrella “Mocha Tweed” # 4616. In a world of odd coincidences, the two seats might actually be the same color. Mine's in good shape, too.

Like Casey, I'm not positive the seat is identical to what was original in your boat, but I would not be at all surprised if it were.

So if you really need a "couple," and these are a fit - there you go!

Hey Casey, Hey Bill
This is fantastic. I am guessing that these seats are pretty close to the same and I would be very happy to have them. I will send a PM to both of you.

Thanks

Doug,

Rec'd your PM.

The seat is in the attic of our rental. I have to go over there tomorrow, and will retrieve it. It may be a few days until I can get it sent out.

Best,

We will see you Thanksgiving morning. Should be able to find you with GPS.

No Hurry at all. I took some time to look at your SE Alaskan Adventure 2 Album. What a great trip, and absolutely beautiful photos. We are very much looking forward to the time when we will be able to do that one.

Thanks much to all!

We have the seats now, both from Bill and from Casey & Mary. They are both very nice. Thanks to all for donating these to us. We plan to use them for the passenger seat and the aft seat of the dinette. I am going to construct a hinged top for the barber style front seat and mount the seat on a swivel. The rear seat will have the same set up. These should be more comfortable than the standard dinette seating and provide easier access to the storage underneath. These will be removable with 2 screws per seat. If we go on a trip that will require the use of the 3rd bunk we can convert it back to the standard set up in just a few minutes.
Since we got the seats for free we made a small donation to the site. The C-Brats are an awesome group.

Thanks again
Doug & Susan

Very cool how the you got the seats thanks to other C-Brats :thup

I've been thinking of doing similar for the forward/aft seats in the dinette area. I don't use the dinette as a bunk either (or if I did could convert back as you say). The Marinaut I took a trip on had a similar boat seat for the forward seat at the dinette (on a swivel) and a regular "square cushion, vertical back" seat aft.... guess which one I preferred.

I only have to decide if I might prefer a settee instead of seats at all (i.e like a long couch). Guess I'll have to spend more time aboard noodling, shucks
