Long shakedown cruise and video

I did a long cruise today to check some of items that I fixed over the winter. I did about 5 hours and covered probably 20 nm or so. Everything performed well and I had a blast out there today! It was a bit chilly, only high 50s for a temp but no wind at all.

The only issue I'm still having is that my Bennett trim tabs gauge isnt working. There is power to the unit(it flashes amber) and the tabs work but the led gauge doesn't register the location. Im gonna call Bennett tmmrow. We also fixed a hydraulic leak on the starboard trim tab over the winter. It was a cracked nipple nut; No more pink fluid leaks in my bilge this season!

Here's a video that i took. The music ends abruptly for some reason, I dont know why. I tried to edit it on YT and it wont let me extend it now... My new neighbor has a Parker 28 XLD with an aft station. Very cool boat and big too; but the "bigness" is in the cockpit. The cabin is too small for my taste but it is a true fishing boat after all.

We make both electric systems and hydraulic systems these days. Both systems have a lifetime warranty on the actuators (rams). Also both systems use our corrosion interlocking hinge system as well.

Thanks so much! I called you guys last fall and you were spot on with my hydraulic leak issue (and also sent me a free nipple nut). Great customer service from Bennett.

Very nice boat! And I thought I was a gadget / upgrade guy.

I also had the same Bennett trim tab issue on my 2008 25'. I had to replace the position sensor / sender. It's basically the cap at the top of the cylinder that attaches to the stern. The hardest part of replacement is getting the wire from the stern up to your helm. Also, depending on how your wire penetrates the hull, resealing may or may not be simple.

In the video it looks like your big 4k open array radar is spinning right at eye level as you are walking very near by on the dock. I don't have a raymarine radar, but I assume if it's rotating, its transmitting. If so, probably best to have it off at the dock.

Wow, lots of folks with the Bennett problem. Lol.

Rob, I totally agree with you. I just turned on the radar for the video only. It's still very empty there now too, most folks bring their boats in mid May/early June. Freezing up here still!
