Long distance purchase, Surveyor, escrow in Ft Myers area?

Wife and I have decided to take the plunge and buy a CD25. Trouble is we want to start our cruising in the SE and we live in Oregon! Can anyone recommend a surveyor (or even a CD25 owner) who is very familiar with this model that can inspect one for me in the Ft Myers area? List of known flaws in 2005-2010 CD25s? Good escrow service? Plan is to mail the deposit to escrow, survey, wire balance, then go do our shakedown cruise this fall. Relying on survey, photos and prior looks at this model vs. personal inspection because I don't want to make the trip unless it's to cruise!

Thanks in advance!

There are a lot of C-Brats in Florida, though I'm not one. Dr. Bob is a knowledgeable one. He's on Lake Powell and, apparently getting minimal reception. If he doesn't answer soon, try sending a personal message.

Working through Werfings is another possibility.

Hope you do get that 25. They're a great boat and I haven't found a common flaw, other than at times they need to grow to about 250' when they're in the water.

What a great idea. Knowing Marc and his crew has been such a great supporter and contributor I wouldn't hesitate having the boat brought to his shop for a pre buyers inspection including mechanical. With the cost of replacing the outboards definitely have a mechanical done, report printed to check for abuse, if you really want oil analysis. With a repower getting close to $15-20k depending on hp choosen sending $500 just on the mechanical is money well spent! Also once all the inspections are complete you can have Mark add any goodies you want to the boat! Bonus.

I think that it's worth a quick flight out there. Yes, I know it's a long distance and you're looking at around 5hrs in the plane each direction, but if you book at the right time the prices are pretty low. A quick check reveals that you can get a RT airfare from Portland OR to Ft. Meyers for about $400. I can't see making a purchase like boat sight unseen.

Appreciate the support !
We are 7.5 hours from Ft Meyers .
Although we do have 2 nice 25s on the lot in Eastpoint.
A seller and buyer have to agree to value the a$$itance of a broker, surveyor and/or dealer's reputation to make that work . Usually both parties have some representation , but the buyer is the one that is taking the most risk .

I plan to be at the Charlotte Harbor home soon. If you need some pics I can assist but not a surveyor
