Locating Dash Insruments

I want to put a couple of more items on the dashboard and I would like some input on the placement of these items. I have not seen any pictures of how other C-dories have their gauges arranged on their dash boards. I placed the windlass on my dash already on the upper left of the dash area. I want to put a Xantrex remote charger control on this week end. The only other thing I have planned is trim controls. Any suggestions or locations of any pictures on the site?

I do a much better job copying from someone else than creating things myself.

John, I'm certain that you can spend the better part of a day looking at the photo albums of fellow C-Brats and find a multitude of dash pictures to look at. Just click on Photos at the top of the page and then click on "Our C-Dory Albums" There is one picture of the dash of my 22' in my album (not to be confused with the dash picture of our former 16' cruiser). (Real easy to find, just click on Sea Shift, highlighted in blue to the left of this message). Switches that you don't use on a regular basis should probably go lower on the dash. Although, it doesn't sound as if you are talking about radar/chartplotters, if you do have those items be sure to place them where they are easy to read. If you wear bifocals, keep the placement of those types of screens in an area where you don't have to crane your neck in order to see them clearly. Also, if in the future you think that you might add other items on the dash, keep that in mind for placement.

Hope all of this is a help to you.

I have a Xantrex Link lite on the upper inboard side of the "dash" (2" hole")

Lower on the inboard area I put a second 6 circuit breaker panel. Both of these areas are not particularly in the line of vision when running the boat--you want those in the center behind the wheel. But they are easily visible .
