C-Brats! One of several functions we need to restore from the old site is Gathering signups. This post is for a non-existent gathering, testing an RSVP add-on I've just installed. Let's see how it works!
 
Looks simple enough - let's do it!

So, as before when somebody wanted to plan a gathering - simply make a post in this forum (C-Brat Cruises and Gatherings) and drop a note to me or TyBoo. Best practice - put the event date(s) in the title of the thread. Once Mike or I see the notification, we'll do the following:

  • Sticky the announcement so it stays at the top of the forum
  • Toggle the RSVP flag for the gathering thread, which shows the reservation option above
  • Optionally "Feature" the gathering so it gets the widest exposure across the site
To test things out, just click the Register link above, select the number of attendees and add any pertinent notes.

Well, It looks like I'm too late for this gathering, but It's my first day looking around on this new site. Looks nice so far. Might take me a bit to learn the pix posting, but thats not surprising. Only took a few years to learn it on the previous C-BRATS, so there is still hopwe.
Thanks to the Admin guys, for making this such a great place.

Will there be any gatherings in the South Carolina to Florida region in 2026-27?
 
There is a usually s gathering north of Sanford Fl in early March '27.
 
Thanks for the info. Just acquired a 2005 CD 25 that's in the shop getting a few things fixed and a new shine. Will look for the announcement for the Sanford gathering.
 
The March gathering is at Hontoon State Park, an Island served by a free ferry service. It is an excellent gathering. At 90 years of age, I had to give up owning a C Dory, but we went at least 9 years to this gathering. We always arrived at least a day early, and usually stayed a week after, as part of a group which visited different areas on the St. Johns River. Excellent birding and wild life observation, good anchorages, springs where you can swim etc. I highly recommend this gathering. Tom and Joyce of "C- Otter" have been the organizers.
 
Thank you for the info on Hontoon. I did a sailboat race down to Palatka some 50 odd years ago and look forward to seeing the springs in my CB. I just turned 80 and had my goal to enjoy the boat for 5 years but with your encouragement will change that to 10 years. I am enjoying your sage advice on the forum.
