Lifting Assemblies

I didn't see any Safe Working Load on those eyes and bolts. That would be critical. I lift my alumiunm skiff by lifting eyes, but even with the golf cart batteries, we are looking at about 300 lbs, on a 5000 lb hoist(stern), plus a 300 lb hand winch (bow).

Boats like the C Dory or Tom Cat, should have full hull support for storage--although some folks lift them with straps,--for storage. I suspose that you could make a bridle or bridle and spreader bar for lifting a C Dory aboard a larger boat, or onto a cradle or trailer. But you would have to be sure of the SWL, of all components, and be sure that the bow eye, transom be re-inforced. For example, the way that the stern eyes of the 2003 C Dory 25 are installed in the transom are not strong enough to lift the weight of the motor and hull. You would have to also re-enforce the bottom of the bow, if you were to bolt this appliance to the stem.

Thanks, Bob

I am so glad the CC docs didnt place you on PC restrictions.

Patty and I hope you feel better.
