Lets keep track of Good and Bad Customer Service

A good small shop is TOMS Boat Shop in Wilbur, WA 509-647-5757. This one is by Lake Roosevelt. They also have a shop in Seattle some one else recommended. I haul my TOGO 120 mikes to get to this shop.

I will not go to Hope Marine in Hope, ID on Lake Pend Oreille. The owner spent a half hour telling me how bad C-Dories are. I feel that the work they did was incomplete.

This thread is doing exactly what I had hoped it would. Thanks everybody for posting. After a week or two I'll post a compilation to that date so we can see the "score", what supplier/service gets good or bad mentions most often. Many are already doing this but it should be helpful to us all if you say where the service/supplier is located.

Gord Smith Marine Inc. (Dundas, Ont.) - if you need a wood boat rebuilt, repaired or revarnished - he's your man.

Bridge Yachts (Port Dover, Ont.) - excellent people, a well stocked store, and a first rate, honest service department.

Volvo - their warranty is top notch.

Rosborough Boats - I still give them 2 thumbs up - even if they have moved their operation south of the border!

Surrette Batteries - excellent warranty(7 years)

Regards, Rob

It is always interesting to me when the same company shows up on one person's "great service" list and on another's "poor service" list.

I have companies that I deal with in my boating life that I think are great and that go above and beyond what I expect. And I will hear from other boater's who have had a bad experience with the same company and will never go back.

BTW- Brown's Point was a great company, and we often used their website to look up parts because it was easier to navigate than the factory Suzuki site. We wish them the best and hope they can rebuild.

Insta_Trim trim tab company provided a new control head to me at no charge for a boat that was 5 yrs. old but practically unused, 130 hrs.
Can't beat that service!!!!!

Thumbs up -

It seems like a thread where we could post experiences with both good and bad customer service might be helpful. So, to start it off,

we have had good customer service from:

Diamond Seaglaze
Bennett Trimtabs
Shakespeare Antennas
Westmarine
Standard Horizon

We have had bad or non-existent customer service from:

Raymarine (before the FLIR takeover)

If you want to tell other brats about good or bad service so we can reward the good and avoid the bad, lets fill this thread up.

I need some diamond ornaments do you provide them?

I have had very good service from marinebeam in Piedmont, SC. They are very fast and their nav LED bulbs are a simple plug replacement for incandescent bulbs.

Good service from:
Wefings Marine
Float-On Trailers
Garmin
A&M Suzuki Marine Service (Grasonville, MD)
Canvas Creations Annapolis, MD
Plantation Yacht Harbor Islamorada, FL
Engel Coolers USA

Bad Service:
Airis Inflatables (Walker Bay)

Over Thanksgiving, I placed an order with West Marine, and they were willing to Fed Ex it to another state for me to get while I was on the road.

Shipped at no extra charge and 2nd day to make the pickup date.

Thanks Port Townsend West Marine.

Another thumbs up for garmin. I called tech support last night and found they have a call center just a few miles away, in salem oregon. The lady was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. And while trying to walk me through the updates for my 541 she finally just shipped me a SD card with the updates on it. Amazing.
