What happened to "Just be Nice?" As they sometimes do, my post wavered off track at some point but that's no big deal. My mid post reply was offered to Ron on Meander and was one of those "shot from the hip things" no one consulted the census bureau prior to making the reply, and unlike you; myself and a LOT of other Alaskans would just as soon you keep what's yours!
Remember, due to light deficency begining around mid November we are not responsible for our actions. :smileo Mike on Huda Thunkit

I think I could handle light deficiency better than what a lot of the folks in new england have to put up with. A lot of boats get shrink wrapped in october and don't get launched again till april. No wonder the west is growing the fastest, too many people were suffering from boat deficiency.

Yeah, mine was a shot from the lip thing too! I really didn't have a clue which was the fastest growing state. I know now though. :o

Well today when the sun sets here on the slope we will not see it again until February the something or other.(long time)

More power to you. I can barely deal with the sun going down at 4:30pm here in "Warshington". I'm from a little farther south and REALLY miss the sun. I just know I couldn't live like that.

I moved out her in June 2002. That was a glorious summer. I was totally smitten with the greenery, the blue sky, the fresh air, the mild temperatures. Curiously, when people noticed my Jersey plates or my Jersey accent they would say things like "perhaps I should write you a prescription for a mild anti-depressant "(my doctor!) Even the guy at the carwash shook his head and said "just be prepared, maybe spend a cheap weekend in Vegas" Come Sept. it started to rain, I asked my son when it would end and he told me.."Memorial Day". You know what? I love it so much out here. What a gift this place is. Lots to be thankful for on Thanksgiving and every day.

...We're all in the same boat....

We were patient or maybe we did not have a choice but the Sun did come back. It was there in all it's glory when I returned to work this time. Now everything will get on the fast track and by May it will be light all the time.
We are gaining over 4 minutes of light per day now and that will increase until June 21st when it goes the other way. More light means warmer temps, snow melting etc, all of which brings us closer to sane boating weather!
Does this mean I have to take on my responsible side again?
Mike on Huda Thunkit :smiled 20 miles from the Arctic Ocean.

Mike-do you keep your boat on a trailer or in the water?

Woo-hoo! There is hope! 8)

Man, we miss those long hours of daylight. In summer, it gets dark down here at freakin' 8:00! What's up with THAT?!
