Lake Erie CBGT/Cruise?

JUST TO DROP A NOTE . . .
I'll be watching for the activities of the Great Lakes' C-Dories . . . a change in jobs has not permitted me to be on the water as much as I had wished (it seems several of us have that kind of problem...hang in there, Rollie!!) - but I'm watching for the opportunity to get out there with you sometime!!

Hi Bruce,

I haven't heard from you in a while either. I was told that there is a 22 or 25 ft. C-Dory for sale in St. Clair Shores and I was afraid it might be you.
I am glad to to hear that it is not and that it is only a new job taking up your time. It is always nice to hear from you. We will get together this year come heck or high water. Or in the case of Lake St. Clair, low water .

Best regards,

Rollie....
The rumors of Lake St. Clair "low water" are exaggerated.....at least for now!! Lake levels are still probably up by 12" or so; what the summer will bring is a different story, though.
On Lake St. Clair....around Harrisville....I'll see you!!

{A C-Dory for sale around here?!?!?...I hadn't heard that!)

Bruce,

That is good news about the level of Lake St. Clair. When you are up in Harrisville, please stop in Richard's Pharmacy and say hi to Richard and his wife Carol for me. We have been friends for a long time. That is a beautiful area of Michigan. I was told the boat was around 9-10 Mile & Jeffererson.

Best regards,

Rollie,
I plan to be up in Harrisville next week and I will stop in at Richardson's. I know that there was a C-DORY in a marina's front storage lot along Jefferson, I didn't see if it was for sale.

Nick & Marcia,

I really envy you. Unfortunately, I am still working on my boat. I decided that while I had my wood working tools and fiberglass supplies out, that I would make a three battery storage unit to replace the plastic trays that the dealer used. Good thing that I decided to do this because the rigger used regular steel screws that were already starting to rust. My replacement unit will be epoxied to the floor. I am shooting for next week for launch. The reports that I get are that the walleyes are bigger this year and are still hitting. It is killing me not to be on the water. Have a safe and wonderful cruise, I wish I could join you. What are your plans after next week? It would be great to get together.

Best regards,

Bruce,

It sounds like this is the boat my cousin reported to me. He wasn't sure if it was for sale or not. Harrisville has an excellent harbor as I am sure you know. Richard and I use to fish the harbor for salmon and then in the late spring to early summer scuba dive around it to pick up all sorts of fishing gear and anchors. Any chance of Driftwood Drei making it up there to explore Lake Huron?

If I don't hear from you have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Best regards,

Rollie....
DRIFTWOOD DREI cruising Lake Huron??!! - it's a possibility this summer. My family is trying to arrange all of our schedules to see if we can be in and around Harrisville after mid-July (both on our property and at the state park). If and when that happens, trailering the boat up there might be a probability.
(I want to see how far I can walk out into Lake Huron and how far the boat can "walk" in toward the property.)
Also, my intent is to be in Harrisville on Wednesday and to check out Richardson's Pharmacy (and say "Hi!" to Richard and Carol).
I like Harrisville's harbor, I've heard that it's hard to get a slip there (there's a long waiting list, from what I have heard).
If the salmon come back (and they weren't around for last fall's spawning run), we'll be back up with the boat (probably looking for them as they stage, before the run!).
Hope to see you out there!
Bruce
