Had the same prob with stalling at very low idle. Turned out that the impeller needed changing, with overheat at low rpms initiating overheat sensor shutting down the motor. At higher speeds, more water would cool the engine enough to not allow overheat. Ron

Doesn't sound like either one of their engines will run long enough (or even start) to overheat, sounds like a different problem... Automatic choke or idle set too low.... :disgust

Charlie, it was low idle on my 15. On the original post about the BH 8, I suspect the plug, but will get it out to the pond to be sure. I blew out my back yesterday (thank goodness for Vicodin and Flexoril), so it may be a bit before I do that.

Bill and Brenda,

Just to make sure that it doesn't happen again, remember to drain the gasoline out of the carb after using it. Use the drain screw at the bottom of the carb.

The problem is that this model of Honda uses an enrichment valve, instead of a choke. This consists of a long tube with a small valve at the top, and it gets plugged up with crud after the motor sits and the gas evaporates. As I mentioned above, it happened to me. Cleaned that tube and it now start easily.
