Is there any reason I can't mix the several gallons of left over kerosene I have into the diesel fuel for the new Webasto furnace? Would this present any problems or concerns?

Good question. I also have 15 to 20 gal of Klean Heat I need to get used up. It's two years old.

It's my understanding that "winter blend" diesel uses kerosene to get a lower gelling point, so I don't see where it would be a problem. Note that I am not a petro-chemical engineer, I don't play one on TV, but if you intend to photograph the kerosene, I might be able to give some real advice. (How's that for a disclaimer?)

I have used kerosene, diesel, and Kleen Heat in our webasto with no ill effects. The tank is filled from an outside opening just like water or fuel and I have simply put diesel, kerosene, or Kleen heat in without any concern for what was already in there. The furnace burns all of them quite nicely so I wouldn't have any concerns.

Fuel Requirements (Diesel/):
Diesel fuel, heating oil and kerosene are suitable fuels for the heater. Any negative effect caused by additives is not
known. Any addition of waste oil is not permitted.
When changing to cold-resistant fuels, the heater must be operated for approximately 15 minutes to ensure that the
fuel metering pump is filled with the new fuel.

I know this has come up before, and all I can do is relay my communications/experiences...but when I called the manufacturer of Klean Heat several years back, I was told a factory sealed container has virtually unlimited shelf life.

I still have a bunch that is 5+ years old - still works good as new. As a precaution, I have drained/replaced older stuff that is already in the tank...more out of concern for condensation, than the fuel going bad.
