Kayak Rack/mount

Hi. How are you all mounting your kayaks on the top of your boats. We a 2004 C-Dory 22' cruiser. I'm currently using dock lines to the bow and stern cleats and laying them on top. Ideas/suggestions please.

I use a Yakima automobile roof rack. Although I don’t carry kyaks, they do make a kayak attachment. Other Brats use other brands of roof racks with square crossbars. My rack was something I had and it fit great. It sits on the cabin roof and clamps to the stainless handrails on the roof. Pictures in my Swee Pea album.
