New boat in the yard. 91. 22 footer. Going through it presently. Seems tighter inside. Always hit my head(couple times a year) in our classic. (86). Hitting my head more in this newer angler. Table is elevated. Cabin is tighter. Pilots chair wider. Holds more gas though. Anyhow, tons of questions. First, someone tell me this boat boat is an upgrade. I’m not seeing it yet. Then again it’s in the yard. Won’t be in the water for a month likely. Thanks

Interior mods
Filling holes
New cushions
Kayak rack to hold three or four!

The shape of the hull was arguably an improvement. The increase in deadrise and chines make the later boats handle a bit better in certain conditions. The transom is different, mostly the motor well and aft lazerette hatches.

Any big difference inside the cabin probably don't matter too much with a 30+ year old boat. You can change modify it however you want. The dimensions are the same as far as I know.

I had an 83 and now have a 95 angler. The cabin is about10 inches shorter making the cockpit bigger. The rear of the boat is wider thus making the cockpit wider . The deadrise is the most different, the floor is no longer flat and the water flows to center so not standing in a puddle while pulling shrimp pots.
I am much more in favor of the newer boat.
Bigest problem is that i need to build some wedges to put under the fuel tanks to level them out to be able to completly emty the tanks. The pickups are on the outer sides of the tanks
