Well, it's the summer of 2009, we're up here in Campbell River, and we've published the first installment of out trip to Vancouver Isle. It's on our web site:

http://www.dobro-journey-on.com

Work your way through the main page to the 2009 index, and then to our version of Barkley Sound and Clayquot Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Isle. Beautiful scenery, great anchorages, thrilling near mishaps all written with Judy's usual charm. Also Boris' additional insightful comments.

More is on the way, but this will have to hold you for know.

Please note, we've changed our server (cheaper,) so if there are any problems, let us know.

Boris & Judy,

Great photos! Any chance you'll be in the Broughton area during August? We'll be up there the whole month. We would love to cross wakes with you some time.

We'll be in the Broughtens the first two weeks in August. See you then.

What we need is a list of good anchorages in the Broughtons. All we have is a list of marinas.

Boris

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the west coast of Vancouver Island vs. the Broughtons after you visit them both. Both are on my short list of places to cruise in the near future. Any brats interested in cruising together next summer from Victoria to Bamfield?

Hi Boris and Judy.

Nancy and I wish you a great trip, which we know you will have. We'll head back to the East Bay in a couple of days. I have only a little work to do in Berkeley, so we are looking forward to doing many of the things you guys did last year. We are particularly anxious to do the Petaluma trip.

Again, have a great journey.

Greg and Nancy

Boris & Judy,
Thanks for writing about one of our favorite areas in the world, Clayoquot and Barkley Sounds. We've spent 20 years exploring the area. Looks like you saw many of the best sights. Did you stop at Hesquiat Harbor north of the Hot Springs on your way to Nootka Sound? Cougar Annie's Garden at the head of the harbor is an amazing place.

We missed Hesquiat Harbor, I'm sorry to say. When we left Hot Springs that morn, we were so set on making it to Nootka Sound that we went back to Pt. Alberni.

Fellow cruisers told us that Hesquiat Harbor was full of whales, otters and crabs.

Well, it's still the summer of 2009, we're now up here in the Broughtons, which are on the mainland side of Queen Charlotte Sound, and we've published the next installment of our trip to Vancouver Isle's west coast, specifically Nootka Sound where all the action was 200 years ago. It's on our web site:

Journey On's Travels

Work your way through the main page to the 2009 index, and then to our version of Nootka Sound. Beautiful scenery, great anchorages, thrilling near mishaps all written with Judy's usual charm and she went berserk with the pictures. Also Boris' additional insightful comments, including a bit of history.

The Broughtons, an idyllic version of our trip through that archipelago.

OK, here is the last trip report, with pictures for those of you who don't (or can't) read.

Sorry it's late, but we've only been home 3 weeks, AND we've been having server problems. I've has learned more about servers in the last two weeks than I ever care to again. The same goes for Yahoo mail, where your mail can be transferred instantly to spam.. Anyway the NEW Server address is:

www.dobro-journey.com

You'll have to scroll around on some pages, but I'm trying to fix that. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Bon Apetiet, Boris

Boris,

Thanks for posting your cruise report. We hoped to get up there this August but did not make it. Maybe next year, but if we do we will trailer up and launch there.

Re: "Fogust". Is it supposed to be less foggy earlier in the summer? Seems to me it would be warmest in August.
