Or you could just start with twins on the transom.

For a lot less (about $900) you can cut two holes in your boat and install
The Lewmar 110 single prop about 1.5hp tunnel thruster.

The jet looks pretty nice--I used one back in the 80's when I was delivering a 62 footer, and at that time, the jet was just not up to the job. I am sure that this one is far better; it seems to push ski boats around pretty well. The real crux is how it works when a lot of wind is blowing. [/url]

Unfortunately since the C Dory has a very shoal draft--thrusters become a problem. Even the jet is not self priming, so the entire impeller has to be under water.
