It's been a great summer for boat sales!

I just went through the C-Dorys For Sale By Owner forum and moved 10 ads to the Marketplace Reference section. These boats have all sold in the past couple months.

I even moved one ad from a delightful family who decided not to sell their beloved boat just one week after posting the ad.

So, if you're looking to buy that new boat or looking to sell one it might be a good idea to act quickly while the sun is still shining!

As we've always said - The C-Brats site sells more boats than the C-Dory company!

Congratulations to all the folks we were able to help find the perfect boat and thanks to all who have listed their boats with us to make it possible.

Add the Margie May to the list of boats sold. She has new ownership on Bainbridge Island.

Thanks CBRATS Admins for allowing me to have a banner ad. $50 for 3 months is quite a deal for the exposure you get!

Mike and Bill,

Thanks too, to the guys that run this site and keep it in such good shape. You two are awesome and this site is about the most comfortable place around. Certainly the most comfortable on the I-net. And the C=BRAT family is the best.

I want one! :(

Oh that's the worst time! You want one and look and look (and look!) and maybe just miss a few "perfect" ones :amgry -- meanwhile reading about all the great boating times (and modding times) people here are having :? Torture :smilep

Then you finally find one (you will!).

(And then of course ones that are even more "just what you wanted" than the one you bought will pop up all over the place  But you'll have yours and bond with it through good times you share :gift ) (Plus a few knuckle-busting projects, probably, since it is a boat.)

Sorry for being naive and/or too lazy to search for the answer to this but....

What is a banner ad??

It's the ad that runs across the top of the site (if you scroll up you should see it). Great exposure (while not being too "in your face" either).

Okay thanks. I've never noticed any C Brats boat ads up there before though. I'll pay attention more now. Lol. That would be better exposure, nice feature.

Btw, has anyone ever listed boats on PopYachts before? It seems like it's a very laid out website...of course with high fees and a commission. Pretty cool site though.

Sunbeam, either you are psychic or you have been there, done that! It is actually sweet torture; reminds me of extended foreplay! :)

That would be the latter. For seemingly ages in early 2012. I did finally find "my 22" though :gift

On POP Yachts. I, personally, would stay away. Not that I have ever done business with them. But there is a reason for that. When I was looking for my 22, there was a very good candidate listed with POP Yachts. Right age, power, features, etc. I was ready to buy! So of course I wanted to look at the large set of photos that was only shown with *tiny* thumbnails attached to their main ad. Great, right? I mean, that's what an ad is for; draw me in and and hopefully sell the boat for the owners. But nooOOOOooo. In order to actually see the photos I had to "Register" with POP Yachts. No thank you. I'm the customer with the money.... why would I have to jump through hoops just to see photos online? I always felt bad for the owners (sellers) who perhaps wondered why no-one was ever buying their boat (the 22 was listed for ages, when we both know how quickly they usually "fly out the door").

Later a friend was interested in a boat listed by POP. Same type of deal. He also declined to go through the whole rigamarole, and bought something else. Another set of sellers that you have to wonder if they would have been happy knowing that a serious buyer moved on along, due to the "gate" POP put up.

No idea if they are shady beyond that.... but then why would I go beyond that? I'd at least Google them a bit to see what others say. Maybe they've changed, etc.
