Installed an Invisacook single burner on my 22 to free up counter space and move on from the Wallas heater cooktop. The Wallas imho isn't very good at either cooking or heating, especially up here in Alaska where the majority of my trips are in the shoulder seasons. The Wallas barely kept the cabin warm and took forever to heat up food or water. Since I installed a diesel heater the Wallas has become an expensive and obsolete item on the boat taking up all the counter space.
The Invisacook burner mounts under the counter and uses either a porcelain or granite surface to flush mount to counter spaces. While the burner is in use there is no heat transferred to the counter at all, just the pot or pan. When not cooking you have a completely free counter space.
Pretty happy with the install and the decision. I'll sell the Wallas for double the cost of the Invisacook as my Wallas is in great condition. Only regrets right now on install was the crappy cut I did on the porcelain that left my finish much to be desired. But I don't live by many services and only had an angle grinder with a stone blade. Also the buzzing noise made by the burner is kinda annoying but this will be solved when I upgrade my modified sine wave inverter to a pure sine wave. (As verified by Invisacook).
I run the Invisacook, diesel heater and inverter off a 100amp lithium battery that is charged by my starting battery via an Orion DC to DC charger. Works pretty well.
