Introducing Wild Blue's new owners...

I want to thank the nice people on this forum for nearly a decade of fun and sharing. Wild Blue has been sold - to a very nice couple that we have known for years on our favorite sailing forum. Tim and Mary are good people and are looking forward to adding C-Dory powercruising to their sailing fun. They are jumping right into it: as soon as we turn the boat over to them, they will be heading out in Wild Blue.

This is not one of the "two happiest days" for this boater. It is something we have discussed for the last year, and the time is right for us to take on the next chapter. We have no immediate plans for "the next boat." We do plan to take plenty of time for land traveling for the next year or two or more. That said, I am delighted that Wild Blue is going to a couple who will use her and care for her.

So, C-Brats, when you see Wild Blue on the water, take the opportunity to meet Tim and Mary. I know you will find them as delightful as we do. I am sure Tim will follow up with a more thorough introduction.

Joan and I will check in on the forum now and then (it's that "once a C-Brat" thing).

Thanks for all the fun C-Dory times!

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

J & J,

Thanks for the many years of fun stories, great photos etc.
We understand the decision and the mixed emotions that go with it.
Hope you will continue your blog and your adventures for many more years,

Cheers,

Merv & Kathy

Wow! No clue that was coming!

Merv, I am pretty sure Jim will keep up his blog which is not even mostly about Wild Blue...so you can continue to be entertained!

Joan and Jim,

We are happy for the both of you as you go on to another chapter in your wonderful adventures. It sure won't be the same on C-Brats without you guys, though, so we are a little sad at the same time.

It's been great visiting with you two at gatherings and in Friday Harbor. It will be exciting to see and read of your future endeavors on your blog.

I was wondering how you were going to tow two trailers home! Congratulations on the sale. I know exactly how you feel, having been there, done that last year.

Hope we can hook up sometime out on the road. We'll be in the Southern Utah National Parks in Sept.

I have been retirement dreaming/planning through your blog for a while now and was delighted to see you contributing to the Three Sheets site now as well. I noticed this season you and Joan are scooting around instead of boating during much of your time off and I don't blame you a bit. It might be partly your fault Jim for turning boating into a job but hey what can you do :smiled I turned climbing into too much of a job years ago and guess who stopped climbing in his free time soon after. It's a self-setting trap that we walk into often willingly.

Keep following the fun together and you can't go too wrong. You know I love scooters too, if fact I was just driving home yesterday and saw a lady on a Piaggio Fly 150 all tricked out with top case and windscreen and handgaurds and extra graphics and I could feel the envy boiling up from inside my Subaru for such simple and rewarding motorized transport.

Land is fun too!

Greg

Well that is a surprise . What will you live in while working the whale boats next year? The trailer or is she going to let you retire for really this time?

When my grandparents retired and sold their auto parts store they sold the house and bought a 5th wheel that was home and adventure for 15 years. They talk about it as some of the best times of their lives. good luck and have a great time.

Talk about poker face. You two did not let on about this change in lifestyle at all when we saw you a couple of weeks ago.

Congratulations on the sale of Wild Blue! I'm sad that you'll no longer be owning a C-Dory but know that you two will always be among the most popular C-Brats on the site.
