Introducing myself and "C-horse"

Greetings,

I'm happy to report that I have bought my first boat, and not only that, it's a c-dory! I have a Fiberglass RV (Escape 17B) and figured my first boat should have the salty, fiberglass, utilitarian look too, and C-dory seems to fit that bill perfectly.

About a year ago, I posted on here looking for for a "test ride" to understand the boat. A few form members volunteered. It became apparent finding one to buy was going to be difficult so I shelved it for the winter until about 12 months later when one of them called me back out of the blue and mentioned they were going to sell their boat. A deal was struck, and now I'm the proud owner of "C-Horse".

I hope to see you out there soon!

Congratulations! She's a beauty. You're lucky enough to live near some of the very best boating waters in the world - and waters for which your boat is ideally suited. Keeps us posted on projects and trips!

Nice looking anchor you have there!!! The rest of her looks mighty fine also.

"Anchor not included" was the terms of the sale. Apparently the seller had just lost it to the bottom of the Columbia. I have to figure out how to install the replacement, which I just freshly ordered. Someone here recommended that one.

There's also a lewmar pro fish Windlass sitting in the box there to go with it :)

Leave a post for Doctor Bob on how to rig your new anchor, search the Anchor Forum pages here, buy a Columbia River anchor for use in that area, and come to Lake Mead and give me a ride in your new boat!!!!

"buy a Columbia River anchor for use in that area,"

Is that an euphuism for "some used piece of junk you're willing to loose?

Nope - there is a specific kind of anchor used on the Columbia due to currents and all. Here are some sights to check out:

PS: I never want to lose an anchor and rode. I favor a ball and clip retrieval system like the one above - I used this in big water in Alaska - at:

Welcome aboard. Love the graphics, and the unusual color. Nice looking boat. I'll second that "Best cruising grounds in the World"!

The Manson Supreme is a good choice of an anchor!

C-Horse, nice to meet you at the FH-CBGT. Hope to see you on the boat there next year. Thanks for stopping in.
