I decided to leave this topic alone for a while to see if anything happened. I wrote to Jeff on July 4the and the letter is below. I was thinking that it might be nice to get this over and done with. I think that my problem is small compared to the problems that dealers have with their stock of boats.
I thought I would pass along the fact that almost four weeks have gone by but no comment or reply. I assume that we owners are on our own but more importantly, dealers are too. If I were a dealer why would I want to sell my inventory and how should I look at future promises.
As the discussion unfolded, I realized that my odds of getting anything were small but I was hopeful that business sense would prevail and some compramise would occur. Sorry for one more post but I wanted all to know that I tried but got no sucess.
Here is the letter I wrote.

Re: 2006 C-Dory warranty
Dear Jeff,
I received one reply from you when I emailed customer service at C-Dory. In that email you explained that you bought assets from Fluid Marine but not the company or the liabilities. You recommended that I contact the builder and the dealer to try to get satisfaction. The whole thing started because I have small cracks on my transom, the formed steps into the boat and the front deck by the windshield. It would be nice if the dealer were authorized to determine how bad the problem is and whether it should be covered and fixed.
I find it rather comical that you referred me to the builder when you knew that they were defunct and no longer in business. The reference to the dealer is also a dead end since my dealer, Dave Douglas, is already waiting on a reply from you regarding warranty questions in general, his inventory of C-Dory boats and of course my warranty question.. Dave is a good dealer and has worked with me in the past on my problems and questions. I feel bad that you are causing dealers major problems. In effect you are leaving all dealers and owners high and dry on warranties. Why can’t you answer Dave?
I hope that you have been viewing the C-Brats web site lately. There are a lot of comments about the warranty question and your lack of desire to state where you are going with this question. I have to state that there are comments that show acceptance of the lack of coverage. I think it time for you to put the questions to rest.
I still think that some place in between full coverage and no coverage is the place to be on this for both your company and for all the owners and dealers out there. Make it a “win-win” for all. It makes life better and allows your staff to concentrate on making boats, the dealers on selling and owners on the fun of summer. The cost of not making a “win-win” will be emphasis on problems and no concentration on weathering the financial mess we are all in. Break silence and make a decision. End the uncertainty and let us all get on with our boating lives.
I look forward to hearing of your decision and the publication of it. Have a good day.
Sincerely,
Hank Heise
