Interesting 22' in AK

Thanks for clearing it up all my mistakes :) However, I know all comments were in good humor. For those that do not know, I am a former Ft Bragg paratrooper with Ranger training that had an unfortunate jump in the Army and it left me on disability. I am now a math teacher, and have been since 1997. I really like it a lot, but fully enjoyed what I did way back then. I also really enjoyed my back and knees not hurting, but I am not looking for sympathy. I apologize to any folks I hurt by calling them "boys and girls". Thanks to all those that served.
 
TR, perhaps we were at Ft. Bragg at same time. (part of '64 and '65). When making my comment I was thinking primarily about jumping out of C-119's...never landed in one...... always happy to jump out of them.

Agree, disparaging remarks about other branches of service meant in jest. We all a team and support each other. :thup
 
my best friend is at Bragg now. has been for years.

$17,500 seems like the value of the boat if you subtract its age, electronics, motors, etc. Once somebody dresses it out, it seems as though they've paid themselves nothing for elbow grease.... unless they happen to have what they need in their garage already waiting.

but then again a sub $20k C-Dory at the beginning of fishing/boating season is worth double :) :beer :mrgreen:

I agree with the C-119 remarks. I was an Air Force Combat Control guy - stationed in Ohio, but at Bragg way too often.

Considering some of the Rangers I work with now, I'm impressed you can do math at all, let alone teach it. :lol: :beer Yeah, it's all in good fun.

My current boss is a former commander of the 2d Ranger Batt at Ft. Lewis. I know he was stationed in AK for a bit. The name Okita ring a bell?

I never did the jump-out-of-an-airplane thing; spent my career in the Signal Corps. I know, I know... But remember, "you can talk about us, but you can't without us." :)

I crewed C 119s (R4Q2s) out of Sand Point in the late '60s. After each take off, we did a boom check, that is we visually inspected the booms to see if there were any cracks from take off stresses. The R3350s put out a lot of power.
