Indian River to Cheboygan Michigan

Looking to spend the 3rd and 4th traveling between Indian River and Cheboygan Michigan. I know it's a short notice but, it might be our last trip out this season and want to see the color change. Any ideas on good spots to launch, dining along the water, and places to stay on the water? Cheap to free preferred. Any C-Brats in the area? We'll be leaving today around 6 pm to get there for an early start.

We left from Indian River Marina on our second leg of the Great Loop. They are really nice people and you could leave your trailer and tow vehicle there knowing it was secure. If you go there tell the crew hello for us.

You'll like the trip up to Cheboygan, its a walk into town from the municipal marina but there is a nice Greek restaurant there, great book store, and the movie theater is nice and inexpensive as well.

Went through the Cheboygan lock. Cool, first one for us. Six bucks each way.
