And I found such a place at the Daufuski Crab Company, Daufuski Island, SC. Extremely laid back and friendly and the food and drinks are good. The dog liked it too.

The wife, dog and I spent last night at the Melrose Landing Marina. The place is in receivership and the marina has been abandoned but they left the power on at the docks. There are clean air conditioned bathrooms at the base of the dock that have also been abandoned but they are being maintained for the occasional ferry passengers that come over to the island for day trips and golf. You can rent a golf cart at the restaurant and tour the island.

If your looking for an offbeat cruising destination and you are in the Hilton Head area, check it out.
But keep it under your hat about the marina.

Icing on the cake was when I got up this morning with my first cup of coffee, dawn ski just starting to lighten up. I threw a fishing line in. Wham, keeper trout first throw. Second throw wham another nice trout. This from a guy who never can catch anything! Caught 6 nice keepers in 10 minutes on a fake shrimp lure. I didnt think it was possible.

My wife and I and dog [Shug] were just hanging out with The Sea Eagle crew, Richard and Cheryle and friend at Up the creek Oyster Bar on hurricane watch .Seems we have to have a storm coming to convince them to leave. We like to have them stay in this great area.Apalachicola is a very dog and C Dory friendly town too.

Thanks for the tip I've wanted to make a trip up that way to Georgetown for years. The Crab Shack Resturant and Bar on the Saint John's just north of Palatka on 6 Mile Creek is also Dog friendly in a outside eating and drinking area. They also have a free dock for overnighters but no water or electric.
