I know it's early for this, but...

I see the Seattle boat show is on from Jan 24- Feb.2 2008. Is this event worthwhile attending? I was wondering if the C-Dory display is worth the drive out there? Any dealer sales at the show that could be tempting? It works best for me if I have lots of advance notice for booking time off work. Thanks again everyone.

The SBS is the premier off-the-water event in C-Dorydom. Last year there were close to 100 C-Brats in attendance. We take over almost all of the Hawthorne Suites lodging near the factory and have a giant potluck supper/party. Last year a group of C-Brats led by Byrdman, set up a tour of Lake Washington and a trip through the locks via Argosy tours. I missed that last year but will go this next year. In the past the factory has thrown a party for all C-Brats in attendance with great food, prizes and fun. With the current changes in the way the factory is operating I am not sure just what if anything will be offered by them this next year. the C-Dory display has served as an opportunity for C-Brats to serve as unofficial and unpaid salespeople for C-Dory just by wandering around wearing C-Dory apparel. The show is always interesting and many people take advantage of "Boat Show" prices to buy big ticket items, Dinghys, windlasses, etc. People come from all over the country and even far Canada. So, IMHO, you should definitely plan to attend. We have a great time.

Dave B.,
Click on "Search" at the top of this page. Then type in SBSCBC. Then you will see several "threads" that reference the Seattle Boat Show and C-Brat Convention.
Additionally, click on "Photos" at the top of this page. Then scroll down and select "Cruises and Events". As you cursor down your will be able to locate photo albums of previous SBSCBC activities.

Yes, it certainly is an event that all C-Brats should strive to attend. I believe the award for farthest away participant went to folks from Florida. There were C-Brats from all over the U.S. in attendance.

Hope to see you there in '08!

IF A C-BRAT WAS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING THE SHOW AND OTHER FESTIVITIES, WHERE AND WHEN WOULD YOU SUGGEST THEY BOOK A ROOM?
WHEN SHOULD TICKETS BE PURCHASED FOR THE SHOW.
THANKS
PAT

Roger (Sensei) is putting together another great package deal for Brats, presumably at the Hawthorne Hotel.

The best way to get tickets is to get them free from a local vendor. I got them from the shop that sold me my boat. Also I believe that last year there were tickets available at the Hawthorne courtesy C-Dory. You could also contact Ranger Jeff and ask him for tickets.

THANKS for asking that question. We, wife and I, have wanted to go to Seattle for the Boat Show. We do not have a C-Dory yet, but retire in 11 months and plan on buying one. So be ready for a hundred questions in here. Thanks again hope to see you there. We live in Arizona.

Hi bkcasa. I hit retirement age in 10 months. We'll sell this house then and we have our retirement home already bought on Vancouver Island. I'll buy my Dory sometime after the house sale. I'm looking forward to the SBS. Maybe see you and many others there.
