I-5 Driving Advice

Joe and Warren,

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that the Tomcat was going to The Sea of Cortez. If I've got it right, you are going with a RV group an the Tomcat is staying in Ca.

The Tom Cat is in WA, not CA. One of the reasons I decided to sign up for this RV trip is that it will take me to most of the towns on the Sea of Cortez that I was hoping to go to next year with the boat. However, given the current safety concerns for Americans in Baja I have had to rethink that idea.

I've been to Baja twice before, both times on small commercial boats, and I'm looking forward to revisiting this beautiful land again.

Got it! ! ! I just glanced thru the post about I-5, snow, hwy 101, etc and assumed you were towing the boat.
If you are not comfortable on the northern part of Baja you might consider going from Tucson, Az to Guyamas/ San Carlos, Sonora about 300 mi of good divided hwy and a great marina in San Carlos. We have a C- brat that registers San Carlos as his region.
Rick and I have though about towing Amigo II that way, looking for warm weather and blue water. It is about 80 mi across to Mulege.
I'll be watching for your post.
